We control how black our toasts are without set the fire alarm on anymore.

Green Cars: Hyundai 2020 family car runs on water and sunlight

MIT recently developed technology that could soon end up in cars that could recharge in seconds. But for some designers quick recharging isn’t the only way electric cars could be promoted. Designers like Nicolas Stone believe solar energy is the future and cars manufacturers should sooner or later venture into designs that generate their own fuel with on-board systems.



The designer has come up with a new family car designed for Hyundai dubbed the Hyundai 2020. The small car is aimed toward a family of four people. Inspired by plants, the car generates fuel for itself using nothing more than sunlight and water, the two fuels for plants to carry out their natural processes.


The transparent solar cells that the car is equipped with generates electricity from ambient light and uses it to carry out electrolysis of water, finally generating hydrogen, which fuels the car. The only by-product of the car engine will be clean potable water and breathable oxygen.


The Dark Side:
The overall design of the car looks pleasing and the technology used by Nicholas ensures a pleasant ride. However, splitting water into hydrogen and oxygen and then storing hydrogen in an on-board tank seems a complicated and a risky mechanism, not to mention the cost of incorporating this technology in a small car.

Koolhaus Faucet : Home Water Usage

Curious about how much water you are using when brushing your teeth. Even fashionistas can't complain about tracking water consumption when it comes in such a sparkling package.

Actually a water reader, Koolhaus Tapware monitors all water used in all of the bathroom fixtures, including the shower and toilet. The amount of water used is visible instantly on the cool LCD display on the top of the faucet. Individual water gauges are installed on all other taps and appliances, which transmit their consumption information back to the main faucet.
All the data can be sent to computer where you can maintain a detailed water log and review past usage figures. Geek out with charts and graphs to figure out how much you are using, and notice those days when you manage to use even less.
Considering that 51 percent of all water used in a typical suburban home is used in the bathroom, displaying the exact amount being used gives you, the user, total control over how much to save and when. Designed by Daniel Dobrogorsky, the Koolhaus taps are currently in the concept stage, but are expected to be reality soon.

Perfect image recognition

I've actually always had this search engine dream. One day you'll be able to see a picture of something or take a picture of something, and load it into a search engine and have it scan the pic, search, and tell you what it is. So you see a flower, stop and take a pic of it, and Google will tell you what kind of flower it is. Or you can take a pic of a fungus growing on your favorite plant and Google will be able to tell you what it is by scanning the characteristics of the pic. Cars, people, buildings -- it should work for whatever you can photograph 

Biometric Fingerprint Scanner-Ekey

 Increased security breaches, be they in the workplace or at home, are a matter of concern among working professionals as well as residents, which forces them to keep each and everything under lock, turning their pocket into a messy key holder. Providing a solution, Italian designer Chiara Ripalti  has come up with an innovative device named the “Ekey” that lets you access various places, such as the office, home or library, safely with just one small gadget. Easy to use, the device equips a fingerprint scanner to identify the fingerprint of the user before allowing entry to multiple private environments. Wrapped in a customized cover, the Ekey also includes a LED light that glows to mark a legal entry.

Future computer technology

Future technology allows man to move their robotic arms just by thinking. Microelectrodes placed in different parts of the brain allow people with muscular dystrophy and other disorders to move cursors and type keys rather adeptly on a computer.No longer are these experiments done with rats, monkeys or the episode of "House" where a patient move a cursor for "yes" or "no" by thinking about it. There is so much future computer technology that most people don't know about that is happening right now, right under our noses.

And, so what does this bode for 5, 10, or 20 years from now? Trends in future computer technology dictate that microchips, processors, hard drives and all computer components will get smaller. WiFi, MiFi and other Fi's Foes and Fums will take over the marketplace and become common. Just by thinking we will be able to connect with networks most likely aided by small electronic devices that we keep on us at all times.
But a step beyond this will be the elimination of these small electronic cell phone, palm pilot, laptop, DS, GPS, facial recognition devices that have been rolled into one. Networks will be so widespread that there will be no need to carry small handheld devices.Just by thinking about logons, passwords, text, photos, music and whatever our heads hold we'll be able to navigate, communicate socially from miles away, Tweet just by thinking and do work on the run.

Future computer technology will allow people who have lost the use of their limbs to use robotics as well as tap into these same networks empowering disabled people like never before.

Some level of Cyborg technology will develop (that will be both morally positive and morally questionable).

Future computer technology will help solve many medical problems such as dyslexia and ADHD by reinterpreting sensory data and modulating brain activity. A whole host of other medical illnesses and conditions will be cured or managed by future software controlling dosages of medicine such as those with diabetes now experience, but the scope of the conditions healed or managed will be much more vast.

Future computer software will know when to stimulate neurons, how much, and will communicate with nanorobots that perform microscopic surgery or deliver medicine to very small, specific areas of the body.
The future of computer technology is a very bright one indeed. The current trends tell us this, as well as the research and development that is happening at lightning pace. The children today will have a whole new technological world waiting for them tomorrow. And tomorrow isn't that far away.
